Building Access Together

Three Organizations,
One Shared Vision

We are honored to partner with The Victoria Project & BirthFUND. These organizations are transforming maternal care in America. While they share a mission to expand access to midwifery care, each brings a distinct approach, strength, and identity to this urgent work.

80% of maternal deaths could be averted with midwifery care.

The Victoria Project and BirthFUND is stepping up with bold, immediate solutions

"We are changing maternity care, one safe, dignified, & empowered birth experience at a time."

The Victoria Project was created in response to the rising maternal healthcare crisis with a mission to "increase healthy outcomes for mothers, pregnant people, and their families by offering accessible maternity care choices based in the Midwifery model." The Victoria Project

Comprehensive, Values-Driven Care

Their power lies in comprehensive support and values-based relationships. They center three core values: trust ("trust must be earned"), dignity ("every person deserves reverence"), and choice ("each individual knows what is best for them"). The Victoria Project.

"We're done waiting for these systems to change. We're stepping in where the systems won't."

BirthFUND was born from action. In December 2023, founder Elaine Welteroth raised $16,000 in just 16 hours through an Instagram birthday fundraiser, funding care for two families.

A Cultural Movement for Rapid Change

Their power lies in cultural influence and speed. With celebrity founding family funders including Serena Williams, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen, plus corporate partners like SoFi, BirthFUND mobilizes resources and attention at unprecedented scale.

Together, these partnerships allow us to welcome more families without compromising what makes our care special: hour-long appointments, continuity with the same team, and extended postpartum support.

Ready to explore your options?

Currently, The Victoria Project and BirthFUND work together with SBBC to support clients in need, a cohort at a time. Funding is available to those who qualify as low-income and are already in the care of SBBC. At this time we are not able to know ahead of time if there will be funding available for your birth fees at the time you start care.

Fill out the form on our contact page to start a conversation. We'll discuss your needs, our care model, and what support might be available.
